Explore the Possibilities

Better Products in a Better Way

ABOUT ME

Hello, I am Chintan Biyani,
an Industrial Designer

I stepped into product design as it allowed me to showcase my intrinsic ability to recognize a user's needs and integrate all aspects of form and function by bringing their ideas to life. My approach towards my work lies in the roots of ‘elements and principles of design’ while developing proper solutions for the chosen problem. I believe less is more and that minimalism and elegance go hand in hand. My work speaks for itself and I believe that we never stop learning and that is why I call myself a designer so that I can learn and master new forms of design as well. My USP for my designs is the fact that I holistically produce finished products with details that allow me to create prototypes for my clients and help their ideas go from imagination to materialization.

What helps me overcome my creative block and get inspired again is mostly a cup of black coffee, a warm hug from a dog, and traveling to the mountains.

EXPERTISE

Product Design

Visual merchandising is a marketing practice that uses floor plans, color, lighting, displays, technology, and other elements to attract customer attention. Enhance the user experience, be it with a product

Create visual communications to convey messages in an effective and aesthetically pleasing manner like brochures, logos, advertisements, and other communication materials.

The connection of form, structure, materials, color, imagery, typography, and regulatory information with ancillary design elements to make a product suitable for marketing

Product design is the process of identifying a market opportunity, clearly defining the problem, developing a proper solution for that problem, and validating the solution with real users.

A prototype is an early sample, model or release of a product created to test a concept or process. Typically, a prototype is used to evaluate a new design to improve the accuracy of analysts and system users

It is more realistic, quicker, and easier than 2D. You can also place your project in other 3D models to check clearances, address access and egress, and even visualize sight lines

EXPERIENCE

Naaya Studio

In my current role as a product designer at Naaya Studio, I have the incredible opportunity to design and create lamps using ceramic materials. Collaborating with a talented team, we strive to bring innovative and visually striking lamp designs to life. I carefully consider factors such as form, texture, and lighting effects to ensure that each lamp is aesthetically pleasing and functional. The use of ceramic as our primary material allows for versatile design possibilities and timeless quality. Working at Naaya Studio has allowed me to combine my passion for product design with the artistry of ceramics, creating stunning and captivating lighting pieces.

Retail 360

I joined Algante Technology as an Industrial Designer. The design team worked on two major projects - a multi-level self-watering indoor water plantation system and a smart design of face mask, a safety device; in our fight against covid 19. I learned how to implement design thinking from empathy to user testing. Worked on ideations and also made several prototypes. The experience there taught me to understand more about design process, 3D printing, understanding materials and textures, talking to vendors and marketing skills, budget and cost cutting, and most importantly team work.

Retail 360 has always been challenging and fun. As we learn to be an asset to an organization, we realize how the experience makes us mature. I got a chance to work with brands like Seagram, Nokia, Luminous.

I worked with Singularity for my graduation thesis. It was 5 months of industrial training that helped me. I designed a thermostat and a lock system for apartments like OYO. These projects helped me understand the security and privacy of an individual that has to be protected by a brand. As a user trusts a brand with his/her safety, this experience brought to my knowledge the importance of the latest technology and how it connects to human safety.

Retail 360 helped me expand my knowledge beyond products and allowed me to work on graphics and branding as well. I created a brand identity for a clothing brand ‘Rainy Rainbow’. Worked with a design team and developed an entire lounge for Glenlivet. I also worked on a project for Chivas Regal and made a digital sketch for the design of their Bar-Counter. It was my first experience in the industry. I learned the difference between doing college projects and working for clients. It was a transformative experience. It helped me see the world of designers in a different light and with a fresh perspective. It helped me learn, grow and understand the fact that not all ideas will be possible yet the world is always open for new possibilities.

FREELANCE EXPERIENCE

I have been working as a freelance designer since 2017. I have worked with brands like Cafe Delhi Height, Retail 360, Pippal, Credo Planter, 100 Pipers, Chivas Regal, Oaken Glow. The key learnings from this experience were to be a good listener and communicate effectively with clients and make plans to act on constructive criticisms.
